March 2025 celestial events: Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, and lunar eclipse
March is a fantastic month for skywatchers, offering the chance to see Venus, Jupiter, and Mercury, as well as witness a spectacular lunar eclipse. So, when will the lunar eclipse take place? Where will it be visible? Here are the details...
The lunar eclipse in question will turn our satellite a reddish color. At the same time, due to the decrease in moonlight, there will be a clear sky for space observers. Therefore, it will be possible to discover some deep-sky treasures.
Astronomers say that observing from a wide and open area, such as a lakeshore or the seaside, will be beneficial.

VISIBILITY OF THE MOON AND PLANETS IN MARCH:
Mercury: Visible for only a few weeks every 3 to 4 months, Mercury will be visible just below Venus during the first 10 days of March. It can be seen low in the western sky about 30 minutes after sunset. Although spotting Mercury is not always easy, catching this agile planet is a valuable prize for every skywatcher. Best date for observation: March 7-9

Venus: Remaining low in the west after sunset in the first weeks of the month, Venus will gradually sink lower day by day. By mid-March, it will become difficult to see in the sky.

Mars: You can find Mars high in the eastern sky after sunset. It remains visible until around 3 AM.

Jupiter: Observable high in the western sky after dark, Jupiter disappears from view around 1 AM every night.

Moon: There is always a solar eclipse a few weeks before or after a total lunar eclipse. The eclipse of the Moon, which will turn into a crimson sphere within a few hours between March 13 and March 14, will unfortunately not be clearly visible from Turkey.
