Microsoft warns: Do not install the latest Edge update

Microsoft wants to increase its share of the web world with Edge. In this context, it aims to include features in its browser that are not available in competitors like Google Chrome. However, it has emerged that the new update causes Edge to break websites. Users have reported receiving memory errors in the browser.

THE BUG THAT CRASHES WEBSITES

The latest stable version released for the Edge web browser is causing memory-related errors. Microsoft has taken action against the bug that prevents certain websites from loading properly. The latest version of Edge has been pulled.

Edge version 122.0.2365.63, released via the browser's standard update channel, resulted in the browser displaying messages such as “not enough memory to open this page” or “there is a problem with this page.” It was noticed that while displaying these warnings, Edge logged an “Out of memory” error.

Experts investigating the issue found that it is linked to Edge's built-in advanced security and privacy settings. In this context, users who reported the error to the company discovered that disabling the “Strict” security level or turning off the “Enhance your security on the web” setting entirely resolves the memory errors.

This workaround was first published on Microsoft's support forums. Additionally, users on social networks such as Reddit have confirmed that the workaround is effective.
