Microsoft's AI breakthrough for the scientific world
Microsoft has announced its AI-powered platform called 'Microsoft Discovery' to facilitate the work of researchers.
According to Microsoft, this new platform is built on "agentic AI" technology designed to fundamentally transform scientific research processes. Microsoft Discovery offers an integrated system that covers the entire process, from the analysis of scientific data to hypothesis generation, and from developing potential solution proposals to simulation and testing phases.
The company emphasizes that this platform will allow researchers to work with specialized AI assistants, enabling them to achieve faster, more reliable, and more comprehensive results. Supported by supercomputing power and the latest AI technologies, the system aims to revolutionize fields such as drug development, materials science, and basic sciences in particular.
Microsoft is not the only major technology company investing in leveraging the power of AI in scientific research. Earlier this year, Google introduced a system called "AI Co-Scientist," which supports scientists in formulating hypotheses and developing research strategies.
Similarly, other AI companies such as OpenAI, Anthropic, Lila Sciences, and FutureHouse suggest that this technology could lead to revolutionary discoveries, especially in the field of medicine.
