Music videos are coming to Spotify!

Spotify's beta version will now play music videos while certain tracks are being played. However, this feature is currently only available to premium members in 11 countries. It remains unclear whether the feature will come to the stable version or if it will be rolled out to all countries.

Support for officially releasing music videos on Spotify is being introduced. According to a statement made by the company today, this feature will be available for a limited number of tracks in the beta version for now. Furthermore, premium members in 11 countries will be able to use this feature at this stage. However, this catalog will be expanded further in the future.

According to a statement by Spotify Global Head of Consumer Experience Sten Garmark, this feature will be expanded to include thousands of songs in the future. For now, the songs that can use this feature include names such as Ed Sheeran, Doja Cat, Ice Spice, Aluna, and Asake.

IT WILL BE ENOUGH TO SAY 'SWITCH TO VIDEO'

To watch music videos, it will be enough to tap the "Switch to video" button located next to the song title in the "Now Playing" tab. However, to make this switch, you must be listening to one of the supported songs. When using this feature on Android or iOS devices, it is also possible to make the videos full screen by turning the phone sideways. Additionally, while in video mode, it is possible to switch back to the old view with the "switch to audio" button.

NOT YET ACTIVE IN OUR COUNTRY

Currently, this feature is not available in our country. However, the countries where this feature can be used are currently limited to the United Kingdom, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Poland, Sweden, Brazil, Colombia, the Philippines, Indonesia, and Kenya. These countries have been selected based on their market size and local content support. The new feature can also be used on iOS, Android, desktop, and televisions.
