NASA to map asteroid

The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) has released details regarding the spacecraft sent to the "Psyche" asteroid.

It was stated that the vehicle, launched from the Kennedy Space Center in Florida, USA, via a SpaceX Falcon Heavy rocket, is expected to reach its target in 2029.

Following its arrival, the spacecraft is scheduled to spend two years orbiting the metal-rich "Psyche" asteroid, where it will take photographs, map the surface, and collect data.

Laurie Leshin, Director of NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) in Southern California and the mission lead, stated that this journey will help unlock the secrets of how planets are formed.

The start date for the Psyche mission was originally set for October 2022 but was postponed due to extended safety checks.
