New details from the GTA 6 gameplay trailer: Map, characters, and police system are changing
A 26-minute GTA 6 gameplay video has revealed new details regarding the map, NPC reactions, the Jason-Lucia dynamic, vehicle handling, and the police system.
A 26-minute gameplay video released for GTA 6, one of the most anticipated titles in the gaming world, has brought many new details about the game's scope and core systems to the fore. The information highlighted in the video covers a wide range, from the size of the map to NPC behaviors, and from the relationship dynamic between Jason and Lucia to the revamped police system.
According to the shared information, the map of GTA 6 will be approximately three times the size of Red Dead Redemption 2. It is stated that the map will be presented in detail in a "satellite view" format in the pause menu, and the in-game mini-map will have a 3D structure. It was reported that the game will run in 30 FPS mode on standard PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S consoles, and that there will be no first-person mode.
One of the most striking topics that strengthens the game's living city feel is the NPCs. While it was stated that there will be more than 600 thousand animations for NPC reactions in GTA 6, it was recalled that this number was at the 55 thousand level in GTA 5. NPCs are expected to exhibit a more reactive and realistic structure with a variety of clothing, styles, tattoos, and behaviors.
CHARACTERS, GAMEPLAY, AND POLICE SYSTEM
Fluid character switching will be possible between the main characters Jason and Lucia. The character switching wheel will include options for Jason, Lucia, and both being controlled together. The romantic relationship between the two characters also becomes part of the gameplay; hanging out together, shopping, exercising, or texting can affect the relationship level. It is stated that even small decisions, such as ignoring an incoming message, will be reflected in the relationship dynamic.
On the gameplay side, there will be three main bars for characters: health, stamina, and focus. The focus system will work with a time-slowing logic and can show the weak points of vehicles or enemies. Vehicle handling will be heavier and more realistic; it will be necessary to fill the fuel tanks of vehicles or charge electric vehicles.
The vehicle theft system is also becoming more challenging compared to previous games. The difficulty of stealing each vehicle will vary; high-value cars will require more skill and risk management. Players will be able to resort to quieter methods such as breaking a window to pull the driver out of the vehicle or picking a lock. There will be multiple escape routes in missions, and mechanics such as firing near a target to pressure store owners during robberies can be used.

Among the details reported is that players may lose cash when they die or are arrested if they do not deposit it into an ATM. It is stated that the auto-aim system will be completely removed in favor of a manual system with aim assist, and that buses and taxis can be used for fast travel. Many activities such as basketball, diving, canoeing, skydiving, and car and motorcycle racing will also be added to the game world.
On the police system side, the wanted level will increase from 5 stars to 6 stars. Police will no longer appear directly on the mini-map; they will be able to remember the model and license plate of the vehicle being used to escape, as well as the character's clothing and physical appearance. Options such as removing tracking devices from vehicles, reducing the risk of witnesses and security cameras by using masks, and burning and abandoning the getaway vehicle used in a crime will also be part of the system.
It is also stated that a new structure called "Criminal Profile" will be included in the game. While performing clean robberies without resorting to violence will positively affect the profile, unnecessary violence may lower it. On the phone and social media side, applications such as BuckMe, RydeMe, and WhatUp; with functions such as vertical short video feeds, posting, and going viral, it is seen that the in-game world will be made more interactive.
