New 'Experiment Glossary' from the Turkish Space Agency

The Turkish Space Agency (TUA) shared a post on its social media account with the hashtag "Turkish Space Science Mission" regarding the "gMetal" experiment that Alper Gezeravcı will conduct today on the International Space Station.

The statement pointed out that the "gMetal" experiment, which aims to develop critical technology for propulsion systems, is highly significant for both deep space missions and the defense industry. It was stated that the experiment will investigate the effect of gravity on the formation of a homogeneous mixture between solid particles and a fluid medium.

The post noted that this would serve as a preliminary study to make spacecraft engines that use metal particles in propulsion production more efficient, and included the following:

"It is anticipated that the results of the experiment will be of a nature that could contribute to international projects such as Mars missions, and will have effects that will trigger the economic development of space by creating an additional energy source to solar energy on the planet Mars."
