New interface from WhatsApp
WhatsApp continues to bring innovations to its Channels feature.
We are approaching the end of 2023, a year that has been quite active for WhatsApp in terms of adding or testing new features. While WhatsApp introduced the Channels feature to its users in mid-2023, it has brought many innovations to this feature throughout the year. In a new beta update, WhatsApp is introducing a redesigned user interface that will highlight Channel updates within the application.
The new update, spotted by WABetaInfo in the Android beta version v2.24.1.6, concerns the sharing of Channel messages as status updates. The new user interface designed for WhatsApp Channel messages includes a new layout and a button that highlights the messages and directs users straight to the source of the information.
This new user interface prepared for WhatsApp Channels may not be new to Instagram users, as Instagram users have the same user interface when sharing a post to Stories. However, this change can be seen as Meta's way of closing the gap between all its services and, in particular, making the user interface more fluid.
In addition to changing the interface, WhatsApp is also fixing a user interface bug. The bug, which displayed a large blue block in the lower half of the screen, was located quite close to the link page that covers part of the conversation or the chat wallpaper. Fortunately, this bug has been resolved with the latest WhatsApp beta update.
