Number of 5G subscribers in Turkey reaches 44.5 million

The number of subscribers for 5G technology, which was launched in Turkey in April, has reached 44.5 million. Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu reported that the figure reached in approximately four months corresponds to more than half of Turkey's population.

According to the ministry's statement, 5G reached 21 million users on its first day of activation. With the latest data, it was stated that one in every two people has become an active 5G subscriber.

5G technology stands out with lower latency times and higher device connection capacity compared to 4.5G. It is stated that these features are important, especially for digital services requiring intensive data usage and new-generation connectivity applications.

Uraloğlu stated that the technical advantages offered by 5G will play a critical role in Turkey's digital transformation process. The ministry emphasizes that it aims to expand high-speed connectivity across the country through infrastructure investments.
