Nvidia's market value surpasses Amazon's
As demand for artificial intelligence chips continues to rise, the market value of the California-based chip manufacturer Nvidia has surpassed that of the U.S. retail giant Amazon.
Although Nvidia's shares fell slightly to $721.28 today, the increase in the company's shares in February, with only 9 trading days completed, has exceeded 17 percent.
It is also noteworthy that the company's shares, which started the year just under $500, have gained nearly 46 percent in value since the beginning of 2024.
Nvidia's market value reached $1.78 trillion today, with the company surpassing the U.S. retail giant Amazon in terms of market capitalization.
AMAZON SLIPS TO FIFTH PLACE
Amazon's shares fell 2.15 percent today to $168.64, leaving the company's market value at the $1.75 trillion level.
Thus, Nvidia has become the fourth most valuable company in the U.S., while Amazon has slipped to fifth place.
The three most valuable companies in the country are ranked as Microsoft with $3 trillion, Apple with approximately $2.9 trillion, and Alphabet with $1.8 trillion.
Nvidia had also briefly surpassed Amazon in terms of market value yesterday.
The company's market value reached $1 trillion last May, driven by the increasing demand for artificial intelligence chips.
