Apple has made an announcement that will please iPhone users. The company announced that it will continue to offer its satellite connectivity service, which was planned to become a paid service in November 2025, for free until November 2026. This decision covers iPhone 14 and iPhone 15 users.

During the introduction of the new iPhone 17 and iPhone 17 Pro models, it was stated that the duration of the satellite connectivity service for existing iPhone 14 and iPhone 15 users has been extended. Apple's statement included the following:

"Apple is extending free access to satellite features for existing iPhone 14 and iPhone 15 users for another year. This free trial period will be extended for iPhone 14 and iPhone 15 users who activate their devices in a country that supports Apple's satellite features before 10:00 PM on September 9, 2025."

Apple first launched the Emergency SOS via satellite service in November 2022 with the iPhone 14 series. This service, which was offered for free for the first two years, had its duration extended by another year in 2023. With the latest decision, the date when the service is expected to become paid has been postponed to November 2026.
