Over 42 new electric cars to arrive in Turkey

Electric cars are now becoming increasingly common. We are seeing this in Turkey just as we are all over the world. Sales are increasing every month. For example, data shared a few days ago revealed that electric vehicle sales in our country have increased 10-fold on an annual basis. With this being the case, there was curiosity about the new models to come.

42 NEW VEHICLES ON THE WAY

Journalist Emre Özpeynirci answered this curious question today. In a post on X, Özpeynirci announced the electric cars that will come to Turkey in 2024 and their arrival dates.

According to Özpeynirci's post, we could see 42 new electric vehicles on the roads in 2024. Currently, 59 models from 27 brands are being sold. This means that with the new vehicles arriving, the number will rise to 101. Additionally, the number of brands will increase to 34.

VEHICLE SALES

Finally, Özpeynirci touched upon the regulation regarding electric vehicle imports that will come into effect on December 29. According to this, if the communique is not changed or softened, it will be very difficult for vehicles outside the Customs Union and FTA to arrive. Stating that 25 out of 101 vehicles will be affected, Özpeynirci adds that 15 of these consist of new vehicles and 10 of them are currently being sold.
