Playing free games on GeForce Now now comes with ads!

NVIDIA's GeForce Now service users who play for free may now have to watch up to two minutes of ads while waiting.

GeForce Now can be thought of as a kind of massive internet cafe. There are tables reserved for paid subscribers that are always ready for use. Those who choose to use GeForce Now for free have to wait for a certain number of computers to become available, and once they sit down, they can use the computers for a 1-hour session. However, from now on, they will be required to watch up to two minutes of ads during the waiting process.

According to NVIDIA's statements, with this change, gamers who watch ads will contribute to the financial support of the free service. In this way, NVIDIA states that it will be able to include more devices in the system. This will allow for shorter wait times.

However, the main shortcoming of GeForce Now may not be the number of computers available for free use. While NVIDIA's service can offer an RTX 4080 gaming experience and supports G-Sync monitors, it does not have a free trial period and its monthly cost is quite high. Furthermore, in October 2023, NVIDIA increased the price of the service in all countries outside the US. Experiencing these technologies could lead gamers to turn to GeForce Now more often.
