The production cost of the 77,000 TL iPhone 15 Pro Max has been revealed

Technology giant Apple introduced the iPhone 15 family last month. While the iPhone 15 Pro Max, touted as the flagship of the series, went on sale in the US for $1,199, its price in Turkey was set at 77,000 TL.

It was reported that the production cost of the new iPhone model has increased compared to last year.

INCREASE IN COST

According to a report by Fomalhaut Techno Solutions, the new iPhones were disassembled and their components were analyzed for cost, revealing how much Apple actually spends to produce the iPhones.

It turns out that Apple is paying significantly more to produce these phones compared to last year.

12 PERCENT MORE THAN THE 14 PRO MAX

According to this analysis, the bill of materials for the iPhone 15 Pro Max is $558 (15,754.29 TL), which is 12 percent higher than the production cost of the iPhone 14 Pro Max.

On the other hand, according to the research, the iPhone 15 Pro is 8 percent more expensive than the iPhone 14 Pro, the iPhone 15 Plus is 10 percent more expensive than the iPhone 14 Plus, and the iPhone 15 is 16 percent more expensive than the iPhone 14.

THE MOST EXPENSIVE PART IS THE TELEPHOTO CAMERA

The most expensive new part of the iPhone 15 Pro Max is the tetraprism telephoto camera.

The new lens allows the latest Pro Max to perform 5x telephoto zoom, but its production cost is approximately 4 times higher than the 3x telephoto camera used in previous iPhone Pro models and the smaller iPhone 15 Pro.

The new titanium-coated frame and A17 Pro chip found in the iPhone 15 Pro Max are 43 percent and 27 percent more expensive, respectively, than the previous stainless steel body and A16 Bionic chip of the iPhone 14 Pro Max.

The iPhone 15 Pro Max has a starting price that is $100 (2,823 Turkish Lira) higher than the launch price of the iPhone 14 Pro Max.

APPLE ABSORBS PART OF THE COST

Increasing the sales price from $1,099 (31,028.62 TL) to $1,199 (33,851.97 TL) represents a price increase of approximately 8%, meaning Apple is absorbing some of the extra cost itself.

STATED THAT IT IS NOT MAKING A LOSS

Nevertheless, it was stated that Apple is not making a loss in its profit department. Despite the increased material costs for the iPhone 15 Pro Max, Apple makes a 53% profit on each unit sold. However, this cost was calculated without taking into account R&D costs, marketing, shipping, packaging, etc.
