Samsung has acknowledged a freezing issue reported by Galaxy S26 Ultra users following the One UI 9 update. The company shared temporary workarounds for the error, which appears particularly during the setup phase, via the Samsung Members community platform.
According to user reports, the issue causes the device to suddenly freeze on the setup screen. It is noted that the error may be related to Samsung Account connectivity and certain carrier networks. For this reason, the issue may not be seen by every user; it is also possible that users who did not reset their devices after the update have not yet encountered the error.
The first of the temporary workarounds shared by Samsung is to switch from a mobile network to a Wi-Fi connection to complete the relevant setup step. The second method is to sign in to the Samsung Account via the official Samsung Account website instead of the setup screen on the device.
The company is expected to resolve the error with the next OTA update. In the meantime, users are advised not to reset their devices until the issue is fully resolved and Samsung confirms the fix.
While the November security patch is expected to be released in the first or second week of the month, it is stated that the rollout of the update may proceed gradually. In December, the launch of the One UI 9.5 beta program may be on the agenda.
