It has been announced that the Samsung Galaxy Ring will not be compatible with iOS devices and that Samsung plans to use this device to encourage iPhone users to switch to Samsung phones.
Samsung has announced that the Galaxy Ring will not support the iOS ecosystem. The company anticipates that this smart ring will capture the attention of iPhone owners and lead them to switch to Samsung phones.
South Korean tech giant Samsung has been drawing attention recently, particularly with its smart ring dubbed the "Galaxy Ring." The company had already shared the design and some features of these rings. However, the latest news seems likely to negatively affect at least iPhone users. According to the information obtained, the Galaxy Ring will unfortunately not support the iOS operating system.
Based on information gathered from several tech editors who have experienced the Galaxy Ring, the device will be fully compatible with Samsung's Galaxy Watch series. In fact, the integration between the two devices will be so seamless that information can be combined to make users' health data more meaningful. However, a similar level of compatibility will not be provided for the iOS ecosystem.
IT WILL NOT BE LIMITED TO GALAXY-COMPATIBLE PHONES
According to the information obtained, Samsung will not make the Galaxy Ring compatible only with Galaxy phones. The company is working to make this smart ring compatible with other Android smartphones as well. This means that phones from brands such as Xiaomi, vivo, Redmi, OnePlus, and OPPO will be compatible with the Galaxy Ring. At the very least, it is stated that Samsung is working on such an initiative.
According to a statement made by Hon Pak from Samsung, the reason the Galaxy Ring is not compatible with iOS devices is that they want to encourage people to switch to Samsung phones. In other words, Samsung is pursuing this strategy to steer iPhone owners toward purchasing Samsung Galaxy phones.
