Solar-powered electric vehicle from Toyota: Toyota announces its tiny vehicle, the FT-Me!

Inspired by the mobility solutions it developed for the Tokyo 2021 and Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games, Toyota is taking an innovative step in urban electric transportation. 

Featuring a futuristic design with angular lines, the solar-panel-supported electric vehicle FT-Me aims to be a rival to the Citroen Ami.

ONLY 2.5 METERS LONG

The Toyota FT-Me takes up only half of a standard parking space with its 2.5-meter length. The solar panel located on the roof of the tiny vehicle provides up to 30 kilometers of additional range in sunny weather.

Offering a compact two-person living space, the FT-Me is designed with inspiration from jet helmets and catches the eye with its 14-inch wheels and black-and-white color combination.

AIMS TO REDUCE CARBON FOOTPRINT

Toyota emphasizes that it designed the FT-Me with maneuverability as a priority. The vehicle will be able to be used from the age of 14 in some European countries and will fall into the four-wheeled motor vehicle class.

Furthermore, Toyota aims to reduce the carbon footprint by 90% with this vehicle.

Although Toyota has not yet announced the technical specifications of the FT-Me, it is stated that the vehicle reflects its vision for urban electric mobility. 

New developments regarding the FT-Me are expected to be announced in the coming days.
