Star Wars: Zero Company becomes Steam's best-selling game before release
Star Wars: Zero Company, set to release on September 1, has climbed to the top of the Steam sales charts following the publication of review scores.
The new game set in the Star Wars universe, Star Wars: Zero Company, has gained significant momentum on Steam ahead of its official release. The game, which will be released for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC on September 1, reached the top of Steam's best-selling games list one day before its launch.
The lifting of the review embargo played a key role in the increased interest in the game. Following the publication of initial reviews, Zero Company's Metacritic average reached 86. With these scores becoming visible, the game quickly rose from third to first place on Steam and maintained its top position throughout the day.

Zero Company had remained among Steam's top five best-selling games for the past five days. However, the surge following the reviews also accelerated pre-orders. During the same period, the game surpassed its prominent competitor NBA 2K27 to take the top spot on the list.
RAPID INCREASE IN SEARCHES
The interest was not limited to the Steam sales list. According to Google Trends data, searches for Star Wars: Zero Company increased by 233 percent within the first hour after the reviews were published. It was also noted that the game ranked high among trending topics on X.
Steam sales, search interest, and social media activity indicate that Zero Company has generated strong anticipation ahead of its release. To what extent the game will maintain this interest after launch will become clearer with initial sales data and player reviews.
