Strict sanctions from TikTok against obscene content!

TikTok Middle East, North Africa, and Turkey Region Public Policy Manager and Turkey Spokesperson Emir Gelen stated that the company uses advanced artificial intelligence technologies to detect and prevent obscene content. Gelen announced that content violating rules such as nudity, sexual activities, and exhibitionism is not permitted on their platform, and that they apply punitive sanctions to the relevant accounts when such content is detected.

Stating that TikTok's main goal is to inspire creativity and ensure users have an enjoyable time, Gelen expressed that they will continue their efforts in 2024 to encourage content creators and support them with creative projects. He also said that their work to make user experiences more personal and secure will continue, and that they will focus on localization efforts to increase the value the platform offers.

Emphasizing that TikTok has developed various measures, precautions, and tools to ensure safe digital experiences, Gelen noted that options such as family pairing, screen time management, and content filtering are available. He also explained that the platform has features that limit screen time for young users and require a password to view content.

Emphasizing that TikTok attaches great importance to user safety, Gelen said they work with a moderation team and AI-based systems to detect inappropriate content and close accounts on the platform. Stating that they took action regarding approximately 16.5 million pieces of content in Turkey last year, Gelen emphasized that they are determined to detect and prevent obscene content and that they absolutely do not allow such content.
