Tagging feature coming to WhatsApp status updates!
WhatsApp is working on a new feature that allows users to tag others in their status updates.
It has been determined that a new feature allowing users to tag others is being added to WhatsApp status updates. This feature will enable users to tag other people in their statuses, though it is not yet clear when it will be released.
According to a report by Webtekno, this new feature, discovered in WhatsApp's iOS beta version 24.7.10.71, will offer functionality similar to the story tagging feature on Instagram. Users will be able to tag people from their contacts in their statuses.
The new feature has been designed with privacy in mind. Tagged users will receive a notification, but other users will not be informed of these tags.
No official statement has been made by WhatsApp regarding this new feature. No information has been provided about the date the feature will be made available. However, as this feature was also detected in the Android beta version a few days ago, it is understood that it will be released on both iOS and Android platforms.
