TECNO Pova 8 Pro unveiled: 144 Hz AMOLED display, 6,500 mAh battery, and gaming-focused P1 graphics chip

TECNO has added a new model to its Pova series that highlights gaming performance. The TECNO Pova 8 Pro, unveiled by the company, stands out with its high-refresh-rate AMOLED display, large battery, and an auxiliary graphics chip aimed at increasing frame rates in games.

While it is stated that the phone will be available in black, white, and green color options, its price has not yet been announced. In terms of design, the model also distinguishes itself from previous members of the series with a mini LED display integrated into the camera island on the back cover.

GAMING-FOCUSED DISPLAY AND PERFORMANCE

On the front of the Pova 8 Pro is a 6.78-inch HyperLux AMOLED display protected by Gorilla Glass 7i. Offering a resolution of 1208x2644 pixels, the panel comes with a 144 Hz refresh rate, 4,500 nits peak brightness, and a 2,800 Hz instant touch sampling rate. It is also noted that the screen can detect touches made with wet or oily fingers.

The phone is powered by MediaTek's Dimensity 7400 Ultimate processor. This processor is accompanied by 12 GB of RAM and 512 GB of storage. The auxiliary chip in the device, called the P1 Graphic Chip, aims for a smoother experience in games with frame-interpolation technology. According to information shared by TECNO, the model will be able to offer 90 FPS fluidity in RPG games and 144 FPS in FPS and MOBA-type games.

On the back of the Pova 8 Pro, there is a secondary screen called the "Alive Matrix Display." Placed on the triangular camera island, this mini LED screen offers notifications and visual effects that can be personalized by the user.

CAMERA, BATTERY, AND OTHER FEATURES

On the camera side, the device features a 50 MP main camera with optical image stabilization support and an 8 MP ultra-wide-angle sensor on the back. On the front, a 13 MP resolution selfie camera has been chosen.

The phone's energy needs are met by a 6,500 mAh capacity battery. On the charging side, 45W support is provided. The device also includes an in-display fingerprint reader and a 5,000 mm2 vapor chamber cooling system for heat dissipation. On the software side, the model comes with HiOS 16 based on Android 16.
