Tesla Cybertruck in autonomous mode crashes: rendered unusable
A Tesla Cybertruck equipped with Full Self-Driving (FSD) was involved in a traffic accident in Florida. The vehicle, which was operating in autonomous mode without any driver intervention, struck a utility pole and was rendered unusable.
CYBERTRUCK STRIKES UTILITY POLE
The owner of the Cybertruck involved in the accident, software developer Jonathan Challinger, shared the details of the incident on the social media platform X. According to Challinger's statement, the vehicle was traveling in the right lane with FSD version v13.2.4 active and was supposed to turn left. However, the FSD system failed to detect the turn, continued straight, and struck a utility pole on the sidewalk.
Soooooo my @Tesla @cybertruck crashed into a curb and then a light post on v13.2.4.

Thank you @Tesla for engineering the best passive safety in the world. I walked away without a scratch.

"I MADE A BIG MISTAKE"
Challinger stated that they walked away from the accident without injury thanks to Tesla's in-vehicle safety systems. However, he admitted that over-relying on FSD was a mistake and warned other drivers to be careful. He shared his experience with the words, "I made a big mistake. Don't do the same. Be careful. This can happen."

TESLA FAILED TO PROVIDE ADEQUATE SUPPORT
Following the accident, Challinger wanted to transmit the incident data to Tesla, but stated that Tesla's service center struggled to provide sufficient support regarding the matter. Challinger, who wanted to share the camera footage of the collision, expressed concern that Tesla critics might interpret this data in a different way.
