Test flights of solid-fuel space rocket conducted

According to a report by Yonhap, the South Korean Ministry of National Defense announced that the space rocket was launched from approximately 4 kilometers south of Jeju Island.

The statement noted that the third test flight was successful and that the Earth observation satellite carried by the rocket was placed into orbit.

Emphasizing that the launched satellite will enhance the country's intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance capabilities, the statement said, "Once the development of the solid-fuel space rocket is completed, the South Korean military will be able to launch small satellites designed for surveillance and reconnaissance in line with security requirements and in unexpected situations."

Additionally, the South Korean Ministry of National Defense had announced on December 1 that a "Falcon 9" rocket, produced by the US-based space company SpaceX, was launched and that the spy satellite it carried was placed into orbit.
