The ad era begins on Amazon Prime Video! $3 per month
Amazon has announced the date it will start adding ads to its Prime Video service. According to the statement, ad displays will begin as of January 29, 2024.
Amazon's online series and movie platform Prime Video has long been a subject of discussion regarding the addition of advertisements. Information that emerged in September suggested that Prime Video's new ad era would begin in 2024. Recent developments indicate that this change is just around the corner.
According to a report by Eray Kalelioğlu from Webtekno, Amazon has officially announced the start date for the ad-display period via an email sent to users. According to the information in the email, users will start seeing ads as of January 29, 2024. However, it was also stated that users will have the option to avoid ads by making an additional payment.
Amazon's email includes the statement, "We aim to show fewer ads compared to traditional television and other online platforms." This statement indicates that the density of ads on Prime Video will not be as high as on platforms like YouTube. Previous speculations had claimed that 4 minutes of ads per hour would be shown on Prime Video.
Users previously became Amazon Prime members to access the Amazon Prime subscription. With this subscription, which can be purchased for 39.00 TL per month in Turkey, all Amazon Prime subscribers will become ad-supported Prime Video subscribers once the ad-display process officially begins. Users who do not want to watch ads will be able to avoid this service by paying $2.99 per month in the US. Pricing for Turkey will be determined at a later date.
