The hidden danger in mobile phones

Mobile phones, which have become indispensable to daily life, are triggering mental health issues such as anxiety and depression, according to experts. With the increase in time spent on mobile phones and social media usage, mental health problems are becoming a more frequent topic of discussion.

According to research conducted by experts, excessive interest in mobile phones or spending too much time on social media increases the risk of exposure to high levels of depression and anxiety. It is emphasized that the design of social media platforms, which aims to keep users in front of the screen, is not as innocent as it seems.

The increase in time spent on mobile phones and social media usage makes mental health problems inevitable. Social media platforms have a dynamic structure that constantly encourages users to consume content. Many people, who spend an average of 2.5 hours a day on social media, are increasing this time every day. Individuals in adolescence, in particular, spend more than one-third of their waking hours on phones and social media, forming a serious bond.

Expert Psychologist Kaan Üçyıldız issued the following warnings on the subject: "Individuals should always try to keep the time they spend on mobile phones and social media at a minimum level. They need to know that excessive time spent on mobile phones can have negative consequences for mental health. It is important to increase social interaction and prefer physical socialization instead of phones. Acquiring hobbies that can keep a person entertained and engaged can be helpful in this regard."
