There are few surprises at the top of both lists. Apps such as Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, WhatsApp, and CapCut are among the most downloaded, respectively.

According to the app list, TikTok ranks first on the App Store with 19 million downloads, while Instagram leads on Google Play with 43 million downloads. Globally, Instagram took the top spot with a total of 54 million new downloads. One of the most notable applications was Threads. It ranked 6th on the overall list with a total of 28 million downloads, and its monthly downloads tripled.

Threads' rival, X, failed to show the expected performance. According to Appfigures data, X was downloaded only 8.5 million times and ranked 36th on the list.

In the list of the most downloaded games of December, Subway Surfers maintained its first-place position with 21 million downloads, having remained at the top for years. On the App Store, the top spot was taken by the China-exclusive version of Fall Guys with 6 million downloads. On Google Play, Subway Surfers was first with 16 million, Roblox was second with 13 million, and Block Blast! was third with 13 million.
