Unexpected move from Amazon: Preparing to launch its own AI model!

According to reports from Donanımhaber, Amazon is working on a new model that will heat up the competition in the world of artificial intelligence. It has emerged that the company is developing an advanced AI model with "reasoning" capabilities.

According to a report by Business Insider, this model is expected to be launched under the Nova brand by June.

WILL OPERATE WITH A HYBRID SYSTEM

According to sources, Amazon’s new AI model will adopt a "hybrid reasoning" approach. This will allow the system to both provide quick responses and perform more complex and long-term thinking processes.

Recently, giants like Google, OpenAI, and Anthropic have stood out with similar reasoning models, while companies like DeepSeek have focused on making these capabilities more efficient.

AIMING TO BE CHEAPER AND MORE EFFICIENT

One of Amazon’s goals is to ensure its new model is more efficient than its competitors in terms of price-performance. The Nova model, which will compete with OpenAI's o1 model, Anthropic’s Claude 3.7 Sonnet, and Google’s Gemini 2.0 Flash Thinking model, is claimed by Amazon to be much more cost-effective

The new model is aimed to rank in the top 5 in external benchmarks such as SWE, the Berkeley Function Calling Leaderboard, and AIME, which evaluate software development and mathematical capabilities.

DIRECT COMPETITOR TO ITS BIGGEST PARTNER

Amazon has invested more than 8 billion dollars so far in Anthropic, which developed the world's first hybrid reasoning model, Claude 3.7 Sonnet.

While the two companies collaborate in areas such as AI chips and cloud computing, with this move, Amazon will become a direct competitor to its major partner by launching its own model.
