First announcement trailer for The Witcher 4 has arrived

The Witcher IV is a single-player, open-world RPG from CD PROJEKT RED. At the beginning of a new saga, players take on the role of Ciri, a professional monster hunter, and embark on a journey through a brutal, dark fantasy world. Powered by Unreal Engine 5, the game aims to be the most immersive and ambitious open-world Witcher game to date.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt's true ending showed that Ciri had become a witcher. For this reason, fans believe that the main character in Witcher 4 will be Ciri, not Geralt.

Doug Cockle, the voice actor for Geralt of Rivia, announced that the White Wolf will be present in the next main game, codenamed Polaris, but stated that he will not be one of the main characters.

“Witcher 4 has been announced. I can't say anything about that. All we know is that Geralt will be a part of the game, we don't know how much of a part, and the game will not focus on Geralt. So this story is not about him. We don't know who it is about. I'm excited to find out. I haven't seen any scripts yet - I mean, even if I had, I couldn't tell you. That's the thing, so I might be lying. But I'm not. Or am I?”

THE WITCHER 4 ANNOUNCEMENT TRAILER RELEASED

For The Witcher 4: Polaris, which has been in development by CD Projekt Red for some time, only a 6-minute cinematic video has been released for now. CD Projekt Red stated that in the new game, “Ciri takes center stage as the protagonist embarking on her own journey to become a professional monster hunter.”

In the trailer, viewers are introduced to Geralt of Rivia's adopted daughter, Ciri, as she takes on a witcher contract in a remote village that has been exploited for generations by a terrifying monster demanding sacrifices. The trailer showcases Ciri's new abilities and tools, including a chain and advanced magical powers.

WHEN IS THE WITCHER 4 COMING OUT?

While CD Projekt Red describes The Witcher 4 as an open-world RPG, it is understood that the events following The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt will be experienced. In November, the studio announced that the development of the game, previously codenamed “Polaris,” was in the “full-scale production phase.” However, no information has been given yet on when The Witcher 4 will be released. Typically, AAA-quality games take 3 to 4 years to emerge from full development.
