Turkey's first astronaut Alper Gezeravcı has returned to Earth

The Dragon capsule carrying the Axiom-3 (Ax-3) crew, which included Turkey's first astronaut Alper Gezeravcı, has splashed down in the ocean off the coast of Florida, USA.

Axiom Space broadcasted the return process of the Ax-3 crew, including Gezeravcı, from the International Space Station (ISS) to Earth via the Dragon capsule live.

The SpaceX-owned Dragon capsule carrying the Ax-3 team landed in the ocean off the coast of Florida.

The capsule is expected to be retrieved by the ground team and brought onto the ship.

The Ax-3 crew had departed from the ISS on February 7 at 17:20 TSI.

The Dragon capsule carrying the Ax-3 team, which included Gezeravcı, was successfully launched from NASA's Kennedy Space Center in Florida on January 18 at 16:49 local time (January 19 at 00:49 TSI).

The Ax-3 crew, whose journey lasted approximately 36 hours, had reached the ISS on January 20.
