Access to the online gaming platform Roblox was restricted in August 2024, and access to the messaging application Discord was restricted in October. Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu made an important statement regarding the bans imposed on Roblox and Discord.

WILL THE ROBLOX AND DISCORD BANS BE LIFTED?

According to a report by NTV, Minister Uraloğlu stated that negotiations between ministry officials and the companies are ongoing, noting that Roblox will be reopened for access in Turkey once the identified content is removed.

Minister Uraloğlu said, "We are communicating what we can identify to them, and they say they will remove it. Once it is removed and an application is made to the court again, it will be possible to reopen it because the court's decision will have been fulfilled."

"There are good things on your gaming portal, but there are also things we do not want. Remove these, remove them in Turkey; we are not here to discipline the world. They were not taking us as a counterpart. Now, we are in contact, asking 'what would you like us to remove?'"
