YouTube Premium Lite is being relaunched: A premium experience at a more affordable price

As one of the most popular video-sharing platforms, YouTube had discontinued Premium Lite, a more economical version of Premium, after two years of testing. However, it has emerged that the company is preparing to reintroduce the affordable subscription service.

WHAT DOES YOUTUBE PREMIUM LITE OFFER?

According to a report by Bloomberg, YouTube will soon launch the subscription plan called Premium Lite in the United States, Australia, Germany, and Thailand. The new subscription plan will specifically appeal to users who want to watch content other than music videos.

A YouTube spokesperson announced that with the Premium Lite subscription, most videos can be watched ad-free. However, the exact price of Premium Lite has not yet been announced, though information has been obtained that it will be offered at half the price of the current subscription.

Last year, YouTube began testing Premium Lite again. A screenshot leaked during the testing process, and according to this image, Premium Lite will contain a limited number of ads. It was stated that these ads would be shown in a way that would not disturb users. In the previous version, ads had been completely removed.

With Premium Lite, most videos can be watched ad-free, but some ads will be encountered while searching and browsing the platform. Additionally, ads will also appear in music content and Shorts videos. The Premium Lite subscription will not offer features such as ad-free YouTube Music, background playback, and video downloads.
