Zoom introduces new features to boost productivity with artificial intelligence

With the increasing importance of remote work and hybrid business models, there is a greater need for video conferencing and collaboration tools. Zoom, one of the most popular platforms in this field, continues to develop its AI-based AI Companion feature. The company aims to make users' business processes even more efficient by adding an "agent" model update to AI Companion at the end of this month.

This new update will allow Zoom users to automate certain tasks. With the "Tasks" tab to be included in Zoom Workplace, users will be able to easily schedule follow-up meetings after meetings, automatically create documents from meetings, and prepare video clips. In this way, time-consuming manual processes will be accelerated with AI support, and productivity will be increased.

The AI-based innovations offered by Zoom are not limited to AI Companion. The company is also making improvements in different areas to make business processes more efficient. In this context, a new voice recorder feature has been introduced for the Zoom Workplace mobile application.

This voice recorder will be able to record face-to-face meetings, create transcripts, and summarize them. Developed specifically to prevent important information from being missed in in-office meetings, this feature will be available to users this month.

In addition, with the live notes feature that will be launched in May, instant summaries will be created during Zoom meetings and phone calls. Thanks to this innovation, meeting participants will be able to follow conversations in real-time and receive a written summary at the end of the meeting. AI Companion and these new features will be offered to Zoom Workplace users at no additional cost.

AI COMPANION AND NEW AVATAR FEATURES

Zoom's Chief Product Officer Smita Hashim emphasized in an interview with The Verge that artificial intelligence is playing an increasingly important role in the business world. AI Companion aims to accelerate users' work by integrating all of Zoom's products. The company presents AI Companion not just as an assistant, but as a comprehensive solution.

Next month, Zoom will introduce a personalized AI Companion subscription package. The package, which will be offered at a price of 12 dollars per month, will allow users to create AI-powered avatars. In addition, general avatar templates will be offered for free on the platform. With these innovations, Zoom aims to improve the user experience.
