12 Giant Men book their place in the EuroBasket final: Historic win against Greece

The Turkish Men's National Basketball Team and Greece faced off in the semi-finals of the 2025 European Basketball Championship (EuroBasket 2025).

The 12 Giant Men made a strong start to the match, played at the Riga Arena in the Latvian capital, with a 7-0 run. The national team finished the first 7 minutes of the match leading 17-10, thanks to three-pointers from Ercan Osmani.

The 12 Giant Men managed to finish the first period with a 26-16 lead.

The Crescent-Stars extended the lead to 13 points by bringing the score to 33-20 in the 15th minute with baskets from Alperen Şengün.

Drawing attention with their defensive performance, Turkey increased the lead to 19 points with 3 minutes remaining in the first half, finding consecutive baskets through Alperen Şengün and Cedi Osman.

FINISHED THE FIRST HALF WITH AN 18-POINT LEAD

The 12 Giant Men finished the first half with a 49-31 advantage.

The national team finished the first 5 minutes of the 3rd period leading 64-38, managing to reach their largest lead of the match at 26 points.

With 1:30 remaining in the 3rd period, the referee called an unsportsmanlike foul due to Thanasis Antetokounmpo's action against Alperen Şengün. Alperen hit 2/2 from the free-throw line to make it 71-46. The national team entered the final period of the match leading 72-51.

Not allowing Greece to close the gap in the final part of the contest, the Turkish Men's National Basketball Team left the court with a 94-68 victory and became the side to advance to the final.

THE TOP SCORER OF THE MATCH WAS ERCAN OSMANİ

Ercan Osmani, who played with 28 points, became the top scorer of the match for the Turkish National Basketball Team. Alperen Şengün recorded a double-double with 15 points, 12 rebounds, and 6 assists.

For the Crescent-Stars, Cedi Osman stood out with 17 points and Shane Larkin with 14 points.

On the Greek side, Giannis Antetokounmpo's double-double of 12 points and 12 rebounds, along with Kostas Sloukas' 15 points, were not enough to secure a ticket to the final.

THEIR OPPONENT IN THE FINAL WILL BE GERMANY

The 12 Giant Men defeated Greece to become Germany's opponent in the final.
