A prison sentence has been handed down for Patrice Evra, one of the legendary players of Manchester United.

According to a report by Le Parisien, Evra was sentenced to 12 months in prison for abandoning his family in France.

It was learned that the 43-year-old former footballer's sentence was suspended for 2 years.

In the case concerning events that took place between May 1, 2021, and September 28, 2023, the court ordered Evra to pay 4 thousand euros in moral damages to his wife and 2 thousand euros for court costs.

It was also reported that the former French footballer has appealed the sentence.
