National motorsports athlete Alp Aksoy has taken a significant step in his career. The 16-year-old Aksoy will compete in the Formula Regional European Championship (FIA FRECA) in the 2027 season as a Ferrari Driver Academy pilot.
The Turkish Automobile Sports Federation (TOSFED) described Aksoy's acceptance into the Ferrari Driver Academy as a significant achievement for Turkish motorsports.
The FIA FRECA season in which Aksoy will participate will consist of 10 races. According to the calendar, the season will begin in Portugal and conclude in Spain.
TOSFED President Eren Üçlertoprağı stated that they are proud of the young athlete competing under the Ferrari umbrella, noting that with the performance he has shown at the beginning of his career, Aksoy has taken an important step on the road to Formula 1.
