2 players removed from the National Team squad

There has been a change to the National Team squad. The Turkish Football Federation (TFF) announced that Mert Günok and Yunus Akgün have been removed from the preliminary squad due to injuries. Considering the absences in the defensive line, Rayyan Baniya, who plays for Palermo, has been added to the squad.

In the statement made by the TFF, it was noted that it was determined that the treatments for Günok and Akgün would not be completed before the match against Hungary, which will be played on Sunday, March 23, in the second leg of the UEFA Nations League play-off round. Therefore, it was announced that the two players were removed from the preliminary squad.

The TFF's statement is as follows:

"A change has been made to the preliminary squad of our National Team, which will face Hungary away on Sunday, March 23, in the second leg of the UEFA Nations League play-off round.

Since it was determined that the treatments of Mert Günok and Yunus Akgün, who have been continuing their training individually throughout the camp, would not be completed in time for the return leg against Hungary, it was decided to remove our two national players from the preliminary squad.

Additionally, due to the ongoing health assessments of our players in the defensive region, Rayyan Baniya, who plays for the Italian club Palermo, has been included in the National Team preliminary squad."
