In the second week of Group B of the 2026 World Cup, Switzerland and Bosnia and Herzegovina faced off at Los Angeles Stadium. The first half of the match, officiated by Portuguese referee Joao Pedro Pinheiro, ended goalless.

Switzerland took a 1-0 lead with a goal by Johan Manzambi in the 74th minute. After Muharemovic was shown a red card in the 80th minute, leaving Bosnia and Herzegovina with 10 men, Switzerland extended the lead to 2-0 with a goal by Vargas in the 84th minute. The lead increased to 3 goals after Manzambi found the net in the 90th minute.

In the 90+3rd minute, Mahmic scored Bosnia and Herzegovina's only goal, while Xhaka scored from a penalty in the 90+7th minute to secure a 4-1 victory for Switzerland. With this result, Switzerland rose to the top of the group with 4 points, while Bosnia and Herzegovina remained at 1 point.

Meanwhile, Edin Dzeko, who once played for Fenerbahçe, started the match in the starting eleven and was replaced by Esmir Bajraktarevic in the 64th minute.

In the final match of the group, Switzerland will face Canada, while Bosnia and Herzegovina will face off against Qatar.
