3 critical decisions from the TFF

The Turkish Football Federation (TFF) is preparing to implement 3 significant decisions. One of these decisions is the disclosure of VAR recordings. TFF Vice President, Executive Board Member, and Board Member in charge of FIFA, UEFA Relations, and Foreign Relations Mustafa Eröğüt provided information regarding the projects the federation is working on.

THE SPAIN MODEL

One of the TFF's key objectives is the disclosure of VAR recordings. As a result of the work conducted on this matter, there is a plan to publish VAR conversations after the completion of matches, taking the model applied in Spain's LaLiga as an example. Tests for this application are ongoing.

Eröğüt stated that another issue the TFF is working on concerns referee observers. Announcing that the best observers from UEFA will arrive starting from the 26th week, Eröğüt detailed the new system as follows:

The impact of high-level foreign observers from UEFA on the referee's grade is 50%

The impact of observers assigned to the match at the stadium on the referee's grade is 30%

The impact of the grade given through a survey of 119 people, consisting of VAR referees and match officials, on the total grade is 20%

Finally, Eröğüt conveyed that efforts are underway to manage the referee organization in collaboration with the clubs. Stating that the model applied in Germany is being used as a basis, Eröğüt expressed that they plan to implement a referee management system where 3 members of the 5-person management committee are appointed by the federation and 2 members are appointed by the clubs.
