English Premier League side Chelsea has reached an agreement to extend the contract of Cole Palmer. According to the statement made by the club, the English footballer's new contract will be valid until 2034.
In a statement to Chelsea's official website, Palmer emphasized his commitment to the club. The English player said, "Chelsea means a lot to me and I think the club is moving in the right direction, so I am very happy and of course very pleased to have signed."
According to reports in the British press, Chelsea has activated an option in Palmer's previously renewed contract. The player's previous contract was set to expire in 2033.
Palmer, whose name has recently been linked to transfer rumors, stated in an interview with the Guardian in April that he had no plans to leave Chelsea. Before Palmer, the club had also renewed the contracts of Reece James, Moises Caicedo, Joao Pedro, and Pedro Neto.
Palmer, who began his football career in the Manchester City academy, was promoted to the first team in 2021. The 24-year-old footballer, who transferred to Chelsea two seasons later for a transfer fee of 47 million euros, won the Conference League and the FIFA Club World Cup titles with the London team.
Having played 138 matches in a Chelsea jersey, Palmer has recorded 58 goals and 34 assists during this period.
