The goals that brought victory to Sporting were scored by Pedro Gonçalves and Victor Gyökeres. Benfica's only goal was recorded by Fredrik Aursnes.
GYÖKERES MADE THE DIFFERENCE
Viktor Gyökeres, who joined Sporting Lisbon's squad at the beginning of the season, scored his 31st goal in his 34th match this season. The 25-year-old Swedish striker has also added 11 assists to his 31 goals.
With his goals and assists, Viktor Gyökeres has also managed to become one of the players with the highest goal contributions in Europe this season.
CAME FROM COVENTRY CITY
Victor Gyökeres, who has turned into one of Sporting's most important weapons with the goals he has scored this season, was playing in the English Championship league just one season ago.
The Swedish striker transferred to the Portuguese team at the beginning of the season for 21 million euros. Gyökeres' current market value is estimated at 45 million euros.
