In a statement released by Beşiktaş, the club said, "We have learned with deep sorrow that Hikmet Çapanoğlu, the technical director of our U-17 Academy team and one of our former players, has passed away due to a heart attack. We will always remember his services to our club with respect. May God have mercy on Hikmet Çapanoğlu; we extend our condolences to his family, loved ones, and our community."
