Rennes and Milan faced off in the second leg of the UEFA Europa League knockout round play-offs. The match at Roazhon Park Stadium ended in a 3-2 victory for Rennes.
The French side took the lead in the 11th minute with Benjamin Bourigeaud. Milan responded in the 22nd minute with a goal from Luka Jovic, and the first half ended 1-1.
Bourigeaud, who scored the first goal for Rennes, converted a penalty in the 54th minute to put his team ahead 2-1. Milan equalized once again in the 58th minute through Rafael Leao.
The star of the night for Rennes, Bourigeaud, put his team in front once more with a penalty goal in the 68th minute.
There were no further goals in the match, and Rennes left the pitch with a 3-2 victory.
Turkish national player Bertuğ Yıldırım started the match on the bench for Rennes and entered the game in the 84th minute.
The 3-2 win was not enough for Rennes. Having won the first leg at home 3-0, Milan was the side to advance. The Italian club has moved on to the Round of 16 in the UEFA Europa League.
