Abdülkadir Ömür: The primary reason I came is Acun Ilıcalı!

Abdülkadir Ömür, who transferred from Trabzonspor to the Championship side Hull City, owned by Acun Ilıcalı, for a transfer fee of 2.5 million Euros during the January transfer window, spoke to Hull Live.

Giving his first interview in England, Abdülkadir Ömür stated, "I can say that the primary reason I came to England is Acun Ilıcalı because he is someone I love very much. He told me about his dreams and what we would achieve with Hull City. Our meeting lasted only as short as an hour, and I told him that we would write this story together."

"I SPOKE WITH OZAN TUFAN" 

Stating that he spoke with Ozan Tufan before the transfer, Abdülkadir said, "I spoke with Ozan before coming here; he told me that everyone is young. Everyone is friendly, everyone tries to help each other, and the team was already in the play-offs before I arrived. We talked about players like Jaden, Delap, Fabio, and Greaves. We talked about many things regarding Hull. When I came here, all the people liked me, everyone was very friendly, and when I arrived, everyone tried to help me," he expressed. 

"IT WAS DIFFICULT TO LEAVE TRABZONSPOR"

Speaking about Trabzonspor, the star player said, "I was born in Trabzon, I started playing for Trabzonspor at the age of 15, and I played for Trabzonspor for 9 years. As a child, my dream was to become a champion with Trabzonspor and play in Europe. Thank God, I became a champion with Trabzonspor, won trophies, and I felt it was time for me to leave. It was difficult for me to leave, but I wanted to go to Europe and have a new experience," he remarked. 

Stating that he enjoys Premier League football, Ömür said, "The Premier League is the best league in the world; everyone knows this. We are one step behind the Premier League. Every player in Europe has a dream of playing in the Premier League. When I was a child in Trabzon, I used to watch every match in the Premier League. Arsenal, Manchester United, Chelsea. We enjoy it very much when they play against each other. Ozan and I watched the Manchester City - Aston Villa match together and had a lot of fun," he spoke.
