Manager Abdullah Avcı spoke about the rumors that he would take charge of the A National Football Team. Avcı, who came to RAMS Park to watch the Galatasaray-Barcelona match in the UEFA Champions League, stated that it makes him happy to have his name mentioned for the national team.
Avcı, who came to the fore following the parting of ways with Vincenzo Montella, emphasized that the national team role holds a special meaning for Turkish managers. The experienced coach said, "It is a very nice thing to have my name mentioned. The national team is a very special and valuable place."
However, Avcı stated that there is no finalized development regarding the process, saying, "To be realistic, as of now, there is no such situation clearly in place. Serving Turkish football, the country, and the flag is an environment every manager desires. As of now, the best thing is to wait, watch, and see."
Avcı, who has not managed a team for about two years since leaving Trabzonspor, said that he has been selective during this period. Stating that he has received offers from 10-12 clubs both domestically and abroad, Avcı expressed that at this stage, he and his team are continuing their work on both league and international football.
Evaluating the Galatasaray-Barcelona match, Avcı also said that it is important to watch matches at the Champions League level in person. Wishing success to Galatasaray, Fenerbahçe, Beşiktaş, and Trabzonspor, who will compete in European cups, Avcı expressed his hope for positive results on behalf of Turkish football.
