Acquittal for Galatasaray General Secretary Eray Yazgan
The 32nd Criminal Chamber of the Istanbul Regional Court of Justice has overturned the first-instance court ruling against Galatasaray Sports Club General Secretary Eray Yazgan regarding the allegation of "violating Law No. 7258" and has ruled for his acquittal.
The appellate court, which reviewed the file, stated that there was no evidence that the defendant acted with criminal intent, thereby overturning the conviction handed down by the local court and ruling for Yazgan’s acquittal.
In the ruling, where Eray Yazgan’s defense was conducted by his lawyer Serdar Mermut, it was also chronologically evaluated that the club had sought opinions from authorized bodies regarding the advertising agreement in question, and that the contract was suspended shortly thereafter and subsequently canceled.
Galatasaray Second President Metin Öztürk, in a statement regarding the matter on his social media account, said, "The slap of justice has come to the disrespectful and the low-level.
I hope to see the days when everyone who sinned against innocent people apologizes in shame.
