Action by Mert Hakan Yandaş contrary to Fenerbahçe's bylaws!
While Sadettin Saran was elected president at Fenerbahçe's extraordinary elective general assembly, Mert Hakan Yandaş's participation in the voting was found to be in violation of the bylaws.
At Fenerbahçe's extraordinary elective general assembly meeting, Sadettin Saran received 12,325 votes, surpassing Ali Koç to become the club's 38th president. However, the situation regarding team captain Mert Hakan Yandaş, who cast a vote at the meeting, has sparked controversy. Yandaş's participation in the general assembly and his casting of a vote as an active athlete were found to be in violation of the Fenerbahçe bylaws.
The Fenerbahçe High Council requested an explanation regarding how Yandaş participated in the general assembly and has launched an investigation into the matter. While the 6th paragraph of Article 15 of the bylaws states that active athletes cannot exercise the right to vote or be elected at the club, the 2nd paragraph of Article 18 states that these athletes cannot attend general assembly meetings.
