Acun Ilıcalı makes statement on sale
It had been alleged that Acun Ilıcalı was demanding approximately 9 million euros for the Slovakian team NK Maribor, which he owns.
Acun Ilıcalı, owner of the Hull City and Maribor clubs, has made a statement regarding the sale allegations that appeared in the press.
Denying the reports, Ilıcalı used the following expressions;
Reports suggesting that we are in negotiations to sell the club do not reflect the truth. We are completely focused on our team and our mission.
While we prepare every day for the remaining matches, we are also working to lay the foundations for a stronger Maribor in the coming seasons. Maribor is not here to be second, but to win championships and many trophies.
Being the biggest club in the country naturally brings media attention and criticism, but we turn this into motivation. The most important thing is your support, and together we will overcome the challenges ahead; stronger and more united than ever.
