Konyaspor defeated Galatasaray 2-0 in the match they hosted for the 23rd week of the Trendyol Super League. Konyaspor captain Adil Demirbağ said in his statement after the match, "We are very happy. We were sending our fans home without making them happy, in frustration.
Hopefully, this will be a fresh start for us. Usually, the month of Ramadan brings us luck. Hopefully, from now on, we will make our fans happy both at home and away.
I believe we will bring Konyaspor to the top level it deserves. I told my teammates at the pre-match meal today that I would score a goal. I also felt that we would win.
After that, I said let us win, it does not matter who scores. I had said that if I scored, I would put a crown on my head, and I did that too. We had said during the week that we needed to start somewhere.
Even if it were Real Madrid instead of Galatasaray here, we would have put up the same fight. It was not the teams here that mattered, but the reaction we gave. I am happy that we did this together with my teammates," he said.
