Alex Marquez wins sprint race at MotoGP Malaysia leg

Alex Marquez wins sprint race at MotoGP Malaysia leg

The sprint race, held ahead of the 18th challenge of the season, was contested over 10 laps at the 5.54-kilometer Sepang International Circuit in the state of Selangor.

Marquez emerged victorious in the sprint race with a time of 19:58.7130. Jorge Martin (Prima Pramac), who crossed the finish line 1.589 seconds after Marquez, took second place, while the riders' standings leader Francesco Bagnaia (Ducati Lenovo) finished third, 3.034 seconds behind the leader.

Francesco Bagnaia (Ducati Lenovo) has 6, Jorge Martin (Prima Pramac) has 4, Marco Bezzecchi (Mooney VR46) has 3, Aleix Espargaro (Aprilia) has 2, and Alex Rins (LCR Honda Castrol) and Johann Zarco (Prima Pramac) each have one race victory.
