Ali Koç announced! Melissa Vargas is returning...
Fenerbahçe President Ali Koç made statements at the February Ordinary High Council Meeting, announcing that Melissa Vargas will return to the team.
Making statements, Fenerbahçe President Ali Koç announced that the successful Fenerbahçe Opet and national team player Melissa Vargas will return to Fenerbahçe.
Ali Koç said, "Regarding the transfer of Melissa Vargas... The transfer window in Turkey closes on January 31. As you know, she plays in China and then comes to us. We wanted her to come to our country after her team finished the final series 3-0, with the league ending on January 30. Melissa Vargas's team had not been defeated for 55 matches and had barely even dropped a set. However, after 55 matches, her team suffered its first defeat. The final series was extended, and in this way, it became impossible for us to complete the license procedures in time."
Stating that Vargas will return to the team, Koç said, "With the efforts of the Volleyball Federation and our executives, and a little push from Vargas's management company, I am announcing that Melissa Vargas will return to the team. The license procedures have been completed."
Finally, Ali Koç stated, "She is still injured; she has only just started playing again. Hopefully, she will contribute to us in March and April. This transfer had a cost. I would like to thank our sponsors who supported us."
